The Cape Cod
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP),
in very
simple terms, is a list of transportation system projects to be
implemented within federal and state funds available for Cape Cod.
Projects may include roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit
improvements. The TIP, developed in accordance with federal
laws,
includes four years of projects, is financially constrained,
and in conformance
with air quality plans and programs. For a project to proceed to
implementation from the TIP list, proponents must ensure that all
designs are completed, and all permits and approvals are in place.
On December 21, 2009, the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
voted to endorse the current TIP. The current TIP Amendment for
Federal Fiscal Years 2010-2013 is in Adobe Acrobat file format (.pdf),
and the current TIP is here.
